The dredge of the West Mill Pond located at the headwaters of the Forge River has begun.

Residents have raised MUCH concern due to the content of the dredge.  As local residents know, the
Forge has been a dumping ground for not only the duck farm, but for unscrupulous people wanting to
    get rid of toxic waste.

Nonetheless, the DEC feels it would be beneficial to dredge and COMPOST the sludge from the river.
Makes sense, take it out of the river and put it back on the ground so the groundwaters will become
polluted again....Not to mention the air.  As residents are well aware...the stench is ALREADY
    unbearable!

In addition to the 32,000 cubic yards of dredge that will be stored on site, a MINIMUM ratio of 10:1 will
be used as a formula to compost.  That means 320,000 CUBIC YARDS OF COMPOST on
approximately 2 acres, AT THE HEADWATERS of the Forge River!

This is a windrow ON the Jurgeliewicz Duck Farm site - What appears to be construction debris is mixed
in....This does NOT qualify as ORGANIC!  A special permit & regulations apply to the storage/disposal of
Construction debris!
